Sod Maintenance & Lawn Care
Louisiana-specific fertilization, core aeration, and pest control. NOLA lawns need NOLA timing, not a generic national calendar
Learn morePre- and post-emergent treatments matched to the weeds that actually grow in New Orleans yards. Not a generic spray schedule designed somewhere else
New Orleans has a distinct weed problem. Sedge thrives in clay soil and drainage-challenged yards. Dollarweed spreads through lawns with poor surface drainage. Crabgrass and broadleaf weeds push through in the summer heat. Generic national weed programs are not built for this combination
Effective weed control in NOLA is about timing. Pre-emergent applications stop seeds before they germinate. In New Orleans, that window is earlier than most national calendars suggest, typically late January to early February before spring germination. Miss it, and you are treating active weeds instead of preventing them
We identify what you have before applying anything. The right treatment for sedge is different from broadleaf. Post-emergent timing matters for each species. We build the program around your specific weed pressure, not a default spray visit

Applied before weed seeds germinate. NOLA timing is critical: late January to early February, well ahead of national program calendars. Prevents spring germination at the source.
Targeted spray for active weed infestations. Product and application method matched to what is growing, not a broadcast spray across the entire yard.
NOLA's most common drainage-related weed. Sedge requires specific herbicides and repeated application. Standard broadleaf treatments do not work on it.
Year-round treatment for clover, dollarweed, oxalis, and other broadleaf species common in New Orleans residential lawns.

Our crew handles everything: removing old turf, grading the soil, laying the sod correctly the first time. Most residential installs are done in a single day.
We walk you through care instructions, answer your questions, and leave the yard clean. Then we get out of your way and let the grass do its thing.
Sedge, dollarweed, crabgrass, and broadleaf weeds like clover and oxalis are most common. Sedge is particularly persistent in clay soil and drainage-challenged NOLA yards because it thrives in wet conditions. Treatment timing and product selection differ for each species.
Pre-emergent creates a chemical barrier in the soil that stops weed seeds from germinating. It must be applied before germination occurs. Post-emergent targets actively growing weeds. In New Orleans, pre-emergent timing is earlier than most national programs because of the subtropical growing season.
Not when applied correctly. We select products that target the problem weed while leaving the turf intact. Sedge treatments are selective. We also factor in your grass variety since some products safe for Bermuda can stress St. Augustine.
Post-emergent treatments typically show results within seven to fourteen days. Some species, particularly sedge, may require a second application two to four weeks later. Pre-emergent is not visible in effect but prevents germination over the following six to eight weeks.
Late January to early February for the spring germination window. A second application in late summer addresses fall-germinating weeds. These windows are earlier and later than national program calendars because NOLA's subtropical climate extends both ends of the growing season.
We use products labeled safe for residential lawns. We recommend keeping pets and children off the treated area until the product has dried, typically two to four hours depending on conditions. We confirm specifics based on what we apply.
